Jennifer Weirich- Office Manager & Little Movers Instructor

Miss Jen danced as a young girl at Cindy Haley’s School of Dance and has taken tap, hip hop, and yoga as an adult at various studios.  Jen works full-time out of her house for a medical insurance company during the day and in the evenings is one of the office managers here at Compass Dance Academy.  This is Jen’s second year teaching here at Compass and she is very excited to get this dance season started!  In her spare time, which is very spare, she loves photography and about a year ago started up her own photography business!

 

 

Heather Butzer- Office Manager.

Heather came to the world of dance when her daughter Maddie fell in love with it. She has been part of the dance world for the last 8 years as her Maddie has danced and competed for Vivian Munson Dance Studio and now Compass Dance. Heather graduated from both Miami University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree from the University of Akron in Reading. She is currently an Intervention Specialist at Tuslaw Local School District. If you have any questions or need any help at all, please don't hesitate to ask Heather!

Angie Duncan- Beginning Ballet & Jazz, Introduction to Dance and Adaptive Dance Instructor
Mrs. Angie grew up dancing at Shirley's School of Dance.   Dance was a major part of her life growing up.  Dance gave Angie strength, confidence, self-esteem, and lasting friendships. Specializing in jazz & ballet, Angie will start Compass Dance Academy's new Adaptive Dance Program- a dance class enabling dancers with disabilities the opportunity to learn and love the art of dance.  Currently, Angie is an Intervention Specialist, teaching students with multiple disabilities through Stark County Educational Service Center.  Angie has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education & a Master of Arts in Special Education from University of Akron.

Elizabeth Remley- Ballet, Ballet Technique, and Pointe Instructor

Miss ​Liz danced at Vivian Munson Dance Studio for 15 years. Competitively dancing for 7 years. Her favorite styles of dance are ballet and pointe. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2016 with a degree in Middle Childhood Education. She is currently a 5th grade math teacher for Perry Local Schools. Liz also is the middle school musical choreographer for Massillon Junior High.

Alexandra Williams- Competitive Hip-Hop and Recreational Hip Hop Instructor

Miss Alex started dancing at Vivian Munson in 7th grade and took hip hop. When she was a sophomore in high school she joined the competition team! She is the hip hop competition instructor and choreographer for some of our hip hop dancers and loves every minute of it! She is currently going to Stark state to major in Human Behavior/Social Work!

Rachel Cowley-Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Competition Instructor

Miss Rachel started dancing at the age of 4 and also danced competitively for 6 years. She's well-versed in jazz, ballet, tap, contemporary, and hip hop. Rachel graduated from Kent State University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Marketing. In her free time she loves to go to concerts, and spending time with friends.

Naomi Bunn- Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Contemporary Instructor

Naomi fell in love with dance 10 years ago when she took her first hip hop dance class. And she hasn't stopped dancing since. After graduating high school, she spent a year abroad in Sydney, Australia studying dance performance and choreography, as well as studying at Bible College. After that, she moved to Los Angeles, California to train at Millennium Dance Complex. She has been trained in contemporary, tap, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. She loves using the art of dance to bring joy to others and loves teaching kids how to refine their skills and make beautiful things through this amazing art form.

​Heather Snyder- Owner, Competitive Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theater, Acrobatics and Yoga

 Heather started dancing at age 3, her first instructor was her grandmother, Vivian Munson.  For 20 years she was an instructor at the Vivian Munson Dance Studio & for the last 9 years co-owner and artistic director.  Heather earned a Bachelors Degree in Communications- Theatre Arts from Heidelberg College & Master of Arts degree in Counseling & Human Development from Walsh University.  Heather is also a certified 200RYT yoga instructor; certified aerial yoga & children's yoga instructor, candidate for 500RYT.   Dance has been a part of Heather's life for as long as she can remember.  One of Heather's greatest joys is sharing her passion & love of dance.  


Kelly Rice-Perry Christian

Miss Kelly started dancing and twirling at Michelle’s Dance and Twirl Academy at the age of 5. When she was 7 years old she moved to Candy Apples Dance Center and continued her instruction there. She grew up competing in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, acrobatics, and baton. She also spent time volunteering as a dance assistant in after school programs for younger students. Kelly has an Associate of Arts in Computer Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Science in Education, specializing in Elementary Grades, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. In her free time she enjoys being creative with Do-It-Yourself projects and loves spending time with her dog!

Ms. Shannon is a University of Akron, dance major graduate. Shannon offers years of teaching experience in jazz, tap, hip-hop, acrobatics and ballet.
